Ordo Salutis

“Ordo salutis” is Latin for “the order of salvation,” which refers to the sequence of conceptual steps involved in the salvation of the Christian. The sequence is meant to be logical instead of chronological; some steps occur sequentially while others occur instantaneously. What this graphic contains is a classically Reformed understanding of the way in which God saves his people.

Manuscript Lines of the New Testament

We believe in the doctrine of Divine Preservation of the Scriptures. This simply means that we believe God not only inspired every word of the scriptures, but that he preserved those words for His church. Our confession says,

The Old Testament in Hebrew (which was the native language of the people of God of old), and the New Testament in Greek (which at the time of the writing of it was most generally known to the nations), being immediately inspired by God, and by His singular care and providence kept pure in all the ages, are therefore authentic;

Since this is the case, it is important to know where your English Bible came from. Did it come from authentic texts that have been in constant use by the church? Or did it come from a corrupted manuscript that was not kept pure and was not in use by the church for the last 1800 years? This chart shows the two main families of Greek manuscripts resulting in our English Bibles.

Medical Mandate

We have signed and adopted The Warrenton Declaration on Medical Mandates, Biblical Ethics, & Authority. This is a comprehensive position paper that, through a series of affirmations and denials, delineates the spheres of authority laid out in Scripture, and then applies that biblical authority structure to the issue of medical mandates and ethics.
